Are You Saved?
Prayer of Salvation
(It simply begins
with Faith in God)
When we pray the prayer of salvation, we're letting God know we believe His Word is true. By the faith He has given us, we choose to believe in Him.
So I'm Saved, Now What?
Now the most wonderful journey of your life
begins! Yes, you may grow slowly at first, but
that's OK. For most people, relationships
develop slowly. They grow gradually. Whenever
you feel like it, just start talking to Jesus.
You don't have to use some special words or go
to some special place to pray. Just talk to Him
like you would do when talking to a friend. He's
always listening! Then let Him talk to you
through His Holy Spirit and His Word - the pages
of the Bible.
Listen to what Jesus has
to say to you in the Scriptures. Learn about His
love for you. Get to know Him in a personal way.
Your Savior will come to you and He will live in
you and be there for you....no matter what!
Not only can you get to know Him through
talking to Him and reading His words, you can
also meet Him in other Christians in whom He
lives. You may want to find a church where you
can be baptized, a very important step in the
life of a new Christian. You will be able to
meet with other Christians at church who share
the same values and goals as you. Your
relationships with fellow Christians will help
you to grow closer to God everyday.
Remember, you don't have to go it alone anymore.
You can call upon Jesus any time and He will be
there for you. No matter what you do, He will
always be there for you. That's His promise to
you!
"....for the Lord your God goes with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you."(Deuteronomy 31:6)
Do I have to give up sin to be saved?
"And they went out, and preached that men
should repent." Mark 6:12
The answer is No! You do NOT have to stop sinning to be saved. No one can stop sinning (Romans 3:23)! No one can live above sin, no one (Isaiah 64:6). Jesus Christ came into this world to save sinners. You do NOT have to give up anything to be saved except your UNBELIEF. However, you DO need to realize your sinful condition and "confess" (or admit) to God that you are a sinner. This is Biblical repentance, i.e., "a change of mind."
